Today for "Little Learners" , Mrs. Meredith taught us about making paper! First, she read a little story about how paper was first made by the Japanese a long time ago, and later other cultures did a similar thing. The kids looked at all the different kinds of paper we use.
She even brought some home made paper pulp and a screen so the kids could see how it is done, by dipping the screen into the water and catching the pulp. Everyone caught some on the screen.
They made purple paper.
Next it was outside for some messy fun.
They learned how to make "marbled paper" with shaving cream and food coloring.
Then after our fingers were cold and shaving creamy, they got to go in for two more fun paper projects. They made tissue paper window sun catchers, and paper airplanes.
It was a really fun day! Thanks Mrs. Meredith!
What a great idea to start this up you guys! Now I am even more homesick for Pittsburgh and all of you!
